Career : Uday Seth is head chef at one of Liverpools
newest dining hotspots, Mayur, in East Village on Duke Street.
Having worked in five star hotels such as the Taj group and
restaurants in India, Dubai and London including Mela in Shaftesbury
Avenue, Uday is very passionate about food and his heritage, and is
keen to spread the delight of Indian cuisine.
Exposed to the kitchen from an early age, he was given the
responsibility of baking bread whenever his mother was away: My
brother and sister made the curry while I was only trusted to make
the bread chapati! We went to the markets
regularly to buy the ingredients. I was very aware of how they came
together to make delicious meals.
Uday lives with his wife, Anamika, and six-year-old son Srijan in
