Chef, Owner

Theo Randall

Hails from Kingston upon Thames. Enthused about food and wine by very enthusiastic parents and annual visits to Italy.

Career : In his early twenties, after a four year apprenticeship starting 1986 with Max Magarian of Chez Max, he was lucky enough to find himself in the kitchen of a little restaurant which had just opened on a stretch of the River Thames approaching Hammersmith Bridge – The River Café.

In 1991 Theo left to spend a year working with the legendary Alice Walters at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California. Upon his return Rose and Ruth of River Cafe made him head chef and invited him to become a partner in the business. During his stay the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star.

Last spring after seventeen happy years he decided to leave in March 2006 and have a go on his own. His first restaurant - Theo Randall at The InterContinental Park Lane - opened November 2006.
