Born in Guruwayur, Kerala 18 May 1951. Second of four children of Baskaran and Thankamma Nair. Came to London in 1972 to study accountancy. Married to Jayalathawith four sons Vaishak Nair, Vinod Nair, Nilesh Nair, Nikhil Nair.

Education : A graduate and Diploma in Catering

Career : Joined Indian High Commission in London then the Lions Group of restaurants. Described as "impresario, restaurateur, philanthropist" he now owns 14 restaurants/catering businesses specialising in Keralan Cuisine including Radha Krishna Bhavan in Tooting. Other restaurants include Malabar Junction, Ragam, Keral Bhavan, Pallavi, Abi Ruchi, Krishna's Inn, Cocum, Catamaran, Mantra, Princes Hotel, Signature Eastbourne, Palm Kerala, Cocum Boscombe, Raj Malabar.

Combines tourism promotion within restaurants and in 2003 was awarded Hind Ratan award for services to India in the realm of tourism. Continues to promote Keral "God's own country" and was awarded Tourism Man of the Year 1999 from Chief Minister of Kerala..

Founder and General Secretary of The Global Kerala Foundation. Known as the "cultural ambassador for Kerala". Conducts Onam Festival, Kerala Tourism Festival, India Week, Soorya Festival and other programmes promoting India.

Member of Follow-up Committee, Government of Kerala, Norka, London.

Director of Kerala Travels, International Yesudas Music Acadamy, Kerala and Jananeethi Institute, Kerala. Chairman of Centre4M in East Ham and editor of Tourism India Magazine, Kerala and New World in LOndon N7.
