Shamsul Krori

Known as Sam to his friends - married to Saleha Krori ; eldest daughter Monrusha was a lawyer and designed the restaurant and son Joshua runs front of house. Second daughter Fatitha.

Career : Opened the first Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant in Cheltenham when he and wife Saleha, who claims to be the first female Indian chef in Britain, opened Curry Corner in 1977. Although nearly 60, Sam still a daily, hands-on relationship with the restaurant helping provide Krori hospitality. A major refurbishment in 2007 has kept the restaurant us to date.

Recognised by Mayor John Rawson as an “Institution of Cheltenham” the Curry Corner is the oldest and most highly regarded Bangladeshi Restaurant in Gloucestershire. Soiree in SARI Boutique Lounge before dining in the main restaurant

Named by the up-market Cotswold Life Magazine 2008 as one of the the Best 6 Restaurants in the Cotswolds. Monusha designed the decor for the refurbished restaurant but the family recognise that the food is what people come back for again and again.
