Born in Bangladesh
Career : Owner Rashid Ali opened the Dewaniam (called
the geranium by some locals) in Forest Hill, London in 1979 and was
one of the great innovators of the time introducing dishes not
previously seen on most Indian menus. He started his career in UK in
West Drayton in 1975.
In 1994 they suffered from an unsolved arson attack by the restaurant
rose phoenix like from the ashes to provide its many fans with even
better food and service. Duck, venison, hare, brains all find a place
on the menu as well as most popular dishes that bring diners back
time and again.
