Nicola Batavia

Career : Batavia runs two restaurants in Italy - the former Michelin-starred Ristorante Birichin in Turin and La Kava on the Liguirian coast, which is open only during the summer months.

Started joint-venture with veteran London restaurateur Paolo Boschi, who owned and operated Da Paolo for 20 years, Casa Batavia will opened on 1 June 2011.

Biggest achievement to date in his career is organising Nike’s sponsored restaurant for the VIPs during the Beijing Olympic Games and writing his book, ‘Chef & Gourmet’.

His signature dish is ‘Vitello Tonnato.’ – a traditional Italian dish of chilled, sliced veal with a tuna and caper sauce.
