Education : Navin originally opted for medical School but soon
changed his mind and enrolled in the Hotel School of Management in
Bombay. Three years later he was chosen to be a Kitchen Trainee at
Oberoi's in-house school. Awarded a gold medal in 1987 and in 1989
became a trainer and it was here he trained such chefs as
Birmingham's Parvinder Multani, Atul Kochhar or Benares, Vineet
Bhatia of Rasoi and Anurag Gaultam once of Yatra.
Career : In 1993 became chef in Oberoi's Kandhar restaurant
and in 1994 Head of Oberoi Indian Section. In 1998 he became Head
Chef of Oberoi's Maidens Hotel in Delhi, and in November 1998 was
headhunted by Cafe Lazeez of London where he soon became Group Head
of London operations.
Was based at Lazeez in Soho until change of management in 2007 when
he moved on to take up the challenge of developing Dockmasters.
One of the top Indian chefs in Britain with many awards to his name. |
