Born in Bangladesh. Three sons.
Career : Came to Britain 1971. Qualified as a textile engineer
and after exployment with Dundee Fabrics, worked for a well-known pub
in Dundee. Opened The Balaka in 1981, in St. Andrews and added a herb
and vegetable garden in 1988.
1999 won the Best Bangladeshi Restaurant of UK Award. Currently the
Chairman , Diamond Properties Bangladesh Ltd. and Diamond Properties
U.K. Sponsors Director of the Mutual Trust Bank in Dhaka. Honorary
President of St Andrews University Cricket Club, Vice President
University Debating Society. Then opened Dil Se, a multi-million
pound project in Dundee, Developing a themed leisure village near
Dhaka called the Scottish Village targeting NRBs and offering
exclusive properties. Known for astute business acumen, has
diversified his portfolios, while retaining his roots In the
hospitality and catering professions. Has actively supported many
community and charitable initiatives both in the U.K. and Bangladesh.
