Marios George initially qualified as a barrister.
Career : Went to Strasbourg to help his brother open a
nightclub in 1982. From 1983-89 the nightclub empire grew to 9
nightclubs, three restaurants and a radio station.
In 1991 he acquired nightclubs in Romford, Ipswich and Southend and
in 1993 launched "Club UK" in Wandsworth. The company grew
and ran a chain of Global Net Cafes. In 1998 Marios moved his half of
the business into an AIM listed company, Pembertons.
In 1998 Pembertons bought the original Smollensky's in the Strand and
then opened a further seven other locations. In 2000 he opened
Attica, the haunt of celebrities and in July 2005 opened Nozomi with
head Chef Nassar Laziri as a top class tradiional Japanese
restaurant in Beauchamp Place. Very much a place for the glitteratti.
The luxury decor suits the style of the place dazzling white
interiors with silk walls & the odd splash of dark wood to offset
it.
