Career : Iqbal Ahmed OBE is a British entrepreneur of
Bangladeshi origin. Based out of Manchester, he made his fortune in
shrimp. The success of his two companies, Seamark and Ibco,
have turned him into one of the UK's richest men. The Ahmed family
featured in the Sunday Times Rich List 2006, coming in at number 511
with a total worth of £110 million
Has been Chairman and Chief Executive of Seamark Group since the
inception of the company. Achievement in corporate development and
international business was recognized in 2001 when was made an
Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to
International Trade, Has worked tirelessly building up both the
company & its management team. Committed massive investments in
Bangladesh with the construction of a major seafood processing plant.
Founder member since chamber was formed, is currently a Director and
regional president of the Bangladesh-British Chamber of Commerce for
the North West of England. Widely respected and admired, is a man of
simple tastes and of great modesty. Substantial supporter of too many
charitable and community initiatives to list. Has promoted
Bangladesh, it's culture, history and country for many years.
