Owner Herman Rodrigues

Born 13 April 1961 in Jaipur, India Herman Rodrigues, photographer, photojournalist, lecturer and restaurateur was born in Jaipur in 1961. On migrating to Edinburgh in 1990, he was immediately captivated by the lives of Scottish Asians. Married to Abha Sharma with 16 year old son Ashwin. Education : M.A. in English ; M.B.A. Career : Original proprietor of the well-known, award-winning Suruchi restaurants in Edinburgh. Produced portfolio of photographs that were displayed by the British Council. Proudest Moment : Entertaining Bollywood stars at his Suruchi restaurant. Ambition : To educate Scotland to eat healthily. Hobbies : Passionate about photography documenting the lives of Asians in Scotland for past 15 years. Has exhibited in most major galleries in Britain and India. The Future : Towards celebrating local produce and fusing them with Indian cooking styles. *2007 Retired from the restaurant business and is no longer involved.
