Career : Opened Last Days of the Raj in Gateshead in 1995 and now one of the most successful restaurateurs in the region. The Last Days of the Raj has become synonymous with fine food and attention to detail and its reputation has placed it in the top 30 Indian restaurants in the country. A leading figure in the local business community, Athair Khan has used his influence to promote a multi cultural society in the north east. The restaurant is involved in numerous charity initiatives and cultural projects to raise awareness of Indian culture and integrate it into everyday life.
