Career : Graduated from
the Hotel Management College in Delhi and started his career at the
Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Mumbai, where he managed the Members
Only club. He then moved on to the Taj in Bangalore to set up the
entire food and beverage department.
General Manager of Bombay Brasserie in London
which changed the direction of Indian food in Britain when it open in
1982. Responsible for the continued success of the restaurant with
Director Adi Modi until the latter's departure in 2008. The
restaurant has welcomed numerous celebrities from Sydney
Poitier and Marlon Brando, to Elton John and Mick Jagger. Antony
Hopkins held his 60th birthday party there, and Rolling Stone Mick
Jagger decided to host Jerry Hall's birthday there too.
Won Best in Britain Front of House Award in 1998 as
one of the most charismatic restaurateurs in Britain. The driving
force behind the re-inventing of The Bombay Brasserie in 2009 with
totally new style of cuisine and decor. Married to daughter of Sir
Gulam Noon. |
