Ana Choudhury

Born in 28th November in Novaghi, Biswanath, Sylhet, Bangladesh. Eldest son of Ahad Choudhury. Married with three children and residing in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Career : Before starting in catering was a qualified insurance broker then started in the wholesale supply of meat and poultry to restaurants.

Currently Conservative Councillor and Chairman & CEO of House of Spice Group based in Haddenham, Bucks helped by son Naz. The group consists of restaurants mainly in the Buckinghamshire - Oxfordshireshire area.

Came to UK in early 1960s and opened Mother India in Lillie Road, Earls Court in 1969 with father. In 1978 he opened Prince of India in Gerrards Cross and the group developed to a chain of 20 restaurants across Europe to become a first in the industry.

Raymond Blanc once commented that, although Ana is not a chef, he has a deep knowledge of Indian cuisine. Deciding to retire early and in the early 1990s sold the Prince of India Group. Retirment did not last long and the House of Spice Group was created with 9 restaurants currently and more to come. His restaurants operate to very high standards and have been frequented regularly by celebrities over the years.

Founder Chairman of Oxford, Bangladesh Islamic Centre and Mosque and contributor to many charitable causes and noted philanthropist to Bangladesh wefare causes.
