Career : Abdul Salam is said to be one of the U.K’s leading Indian chefs. Winner of the coveted “Britain’s Number One Curry Chef” in 1999, Abdul’s principle restaurant, The Eastern Eye, in Lichfield, Staffordshire, was recently awarded the title of the U.K’s top Bangladeshi restaurant.

In 2000 he entered the Guinness Book of world records for creating the world’s biggest curry. Then he beat his own world record by creating a 10 tonne curry in his home town of Lichfield . Chef Abdul Salam smashed his own world record of 3.1 tonnes in his latest extravaganza. Wrote a cookbook called 'Secret Curry Cookbook'.

In Top 100 of Curry Club and British Curry Awards. Much liked by Michael Frabricant MP and even discussed in House of Commons.

He has branched out into specialist sauce making after 25 years at the helm of his Eastern Eye restaurant in Lichfield with his Masterchef UK factory. His son Manum now runs the restaurant.
